4. Sébastien Beaulieu

Sébastien Beaulieu got his first taste of World Cup competition in January 2010 at a Canadian-hosted event in Stoneham, Quebec. He competed at Stoneham each of the next two years, before attending his first overseas World Cup events in 2012-13. In January 2017, Beaulieu dislocated his left shoulder and fractured the head of his humerus but finished the season while only having full use of one arm. He was still able to make his first appearance at the FIS World Championships and ended up with his best overall World Cup ranking at that time. After winning the national title in parallel giant slalom, he had surgery in April and was ready for the start of the 2017-18 campaign. In January 2018, Beaulieu advanced to the quarterfinals at a World Cup for the first time in Bankso, Bulgaria. He finished seventh in that parallel giant slalom event, just a few hours after learning he would not be going to the 2018 Olympic Games, missing the qualification cutoff by one spot.

 

In the 2018-19 season, Beaulieu matched his career-high with another seventh-place finish in parallel giant slalom in Scuol, Switzerland in March. That helped him break into the top-30 in the overall World Cup standings for alpine snowboard. Beaulieu competed at his third straight world championships in 2021. He made his Olympic debut at Beijing 2022.

 

Beaulieu finished second overall in the Nor-Am Cup alpine snowboard standings in 2014-15 and 2015-16. He has seven career Nor-Am Cup victories, the most recent in March 2019.

She was born in Mascouche, Quebec in 1981. Mondor studied at McGill University, later moving to Simon Fraser University to study and train. She had a promising performance at the 1998 IAAF World Cross Country Championships, finishing tenth in the junior race at the age of sixteen. She did not build on these performances, however, and she finished some minutes behind the leaders at the 1999 and 2000 world junior races. She died in a car accident on Highway 417 near Hawkesbury, Ontario. According to the Ontario Provincial Police, Ms. Mondor lost control of her car after passing two other vehicles.

7. Miha Fontaine

Miha Fontaine made his Olympic debut at Beijing 2022 where he won a bronze medal with Marion Thénault and Lewis Irving in the inaugural Olympic mixed team aerials event. It was Canada’s first Olympic medal in any aerials event in 20 years. Fontaine came just one spot shy of qualifying for the final of the men’s individual aerials event in Beijing, placing 13th overall. Fontaine has been a member of Freestyle Canada’s national next gen team since 2019. He got his first taste of World Cup competition in February 2020 before joining the circuit close to full time in 2020-21. He posted two top-eight finishes that season and made his debut at the FIS World Championships. During the 2021-22 season, he improved his personal best on the World Cup circuit with a sixth-place finish in Deer Valley in January.  

 

Fontaine was the overall champion for freestyle skiing on the 2019-20 Nor-Am Cup circuit. He reached the podium in six of eight events, including four victories.

At Beijing 2022, Laurent Dubreuil overcame his disappointment at missing out on the 500m podium by just 0.03 seconds by winning silver in the 1000m a few days later. It was the first career Olympic medal for the skater who has established himself as one of the best sprinters in the world in long track speed skating.

 

In 2020, he returned to the podium at the World Single Distance Championships for the first time in five years, winning bronze in the 1000m. Two weeks later, he won the overall silver medal at the World Sprint Championships. He concluded the season third in the overall World Cup rankings in both the 500m and 1000m. Dubreuil, whose parents are also Olympians, enjoyed great success early in his career. He participated in three Junior World Championships during which he won a silver medal in the 500m in 2011, as well as a gold and a bronze medal in the 1000m in 2012. He set the world record junior for the 2x500m in addition to winning his first junior world title. Also in 2011, he won five medals, including three gold, at the Canada Winter Games and was named Long Track Rising Star of the Year by Speed ​​Skating Canada.

Louis Crevier (born May 4, 2001) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the Rockford IceHogs in the American Hockey League (AHL) as a prospect to the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Crevier played junior for the Chicoutimi Saguenéens and the Quebec Remparts in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) and was selected by the Blackhawks in the seventh round, 188th overall, of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.[2] He signed with the Blackhawks in 2023 and made his debut on December 8, 2023, against the Anaheim Ducks.[3]
