2. Kondiaronk Belvedere

Google 4.8 Stars (8.4K Reviews)

Usually, the first thing we do after arriving in a city is ascend to its highest point for a birds-eye view. But we waited a full month before heading up Mont Royal, the hill (sorry, “mountain”) which provides Montreal its name. When the weather finally cleared up enough, we found that the view was worth the wait. The first truly nice day of the year happened to be on a Saturday, and the Parc du Mont-Royal was packed, the paths which wind around the slopes as crowded as a city street during rush hour. But we joined the throngs of joggers, bikers and families, and made our way from the park’s eastern slope all the way up to the Chalet du Mont Royal, where there’s a large platform with one of the city’s best views.

The Light Tower (Front) is one of two identically designed towers in St. Louis Park, a municipal recreation space on the waterfront. Shorter than its twin, the front range tower is located at the end of a wharf at the park. It is a white-painted metal, tapered tower of squat proportions set on a concrete base. An attractive, decorative metal cupola with sliding doors houses the light apparatus and is accessed by a circular, metal gallery platform accented by corbels. Google 3,9 Stars (33 Reviews)

Accessible to the entire population, the new river park of Lachine is a long peninsula of more than one kilometer between the René-Lévesque park and the Père-Marquette promenade.

This peninsula is accessible to pedestrians and cyclists only. Many bicycle racks are installed in the park and a Bixi station is nearby during the season. Picnic or just admire the sunset at the end of the tip. A fine invitation to contemplation.
