Top 5 Brunch Spots in Montreal

If there’s one thing Montrealers love, it’s brunch. No matter what temperature it is outside or what time of the day it is, you will always find us brunching on the weekends with our friends and family. Here are the top 5 restaurants that people can’t get enough of:

1. Régine Café

Not only does this upscale restaurant serve delicious food, but they also have a very glamorous interior. Who wouldn't want to enjoy a chic chocolate waffle while sitting on a purple, velvety couch? In addition to their gastronomic brunch menu, they also have a variety of homemade pastries and spreads – like their version of “Nutella” and crumpets. The best part? They serve brunch every day, so you don’t have to wait for the weekend.

2. Arthur’s Nosh Bar

St-Henri is known to have some of the best restaurants, and Arthur’s Nosh bar is no stranger to the scene. Opened in 2016, this eastern European restaurant serves classic Jewish dishes with a twist. They have some of the most creative and delicious creations that keep people coming back for more – like their challah French toast. If you want to avoid lineups on the weekend (and trust me, they are very long), try going during the week. You won’t be able to try their brunch dishes, but they have a lot of breakfast options that are available all day and just as delicious.

3. L’Avenue

This is a funky, hip brunch spot that serves traditional style breakfast dishes with generous portions. With so much variety to choose from, like their duck eggs benedict and carrot cake pancakes, you’ll be sure to leave from there satisfied. If you’re the type that has a hard time choosing between sweet and salty, they have an “indecisive” option so you can have the best of both worlds! With a vibrant atmosphere, graffiti decorated walls and hearty dishes, what more could you want?

If you’re bored of the typical eggs and pancakes option and want a more unique culinary experience, this is to place to come. It is a restaurant, café, and boutique in one located in the Mile End. Although they have a small menu, it consists of creative dishes that are made with fresh, quality ingredients. The menu changes regularly, so every time you go back you will surely be trying something new. The restaurant is very spacious and bright with an open kitchen, so if you sit at the counter you can catch the chefs in action! When you’re done with your meal, you can head out to the front to check out their boutique.

This vintage inspired bar is another restaurant with a small, but satisfying brunch menu.  Although they have a few typical options such as pancakes and granola, you can opt for something different like the Turkish breakfast plate or the breakfast naan. You can even share some of their delicious sides – freshly made mini donuts with a custard filling? Yes please! Make reservations by sending them an e-mail at [email protected].
